Credits and plans

What is a credit?

One credit is one round of replies from your group. In the app, credits are counted as chats: “12 chats left” means 12 rounds. You can send one message or several in a row; after a short pause the characters reply, and that round uses one chat however many of them answer. Reading your chats, creating groups and typing never use one.

How do I get credits?
  • Free: 10 chats, once, when you finish setting up.
  • Subscription: weekly, monthly or annual plans include an allowance that refreshes each period (annual plans refresh monthly). Unused allowance doesn’t carry over, and when you subscribe, any free chats you have left are replaced by the plan’s allowance.
  • Credit packs: subscribers can buy extra chats in packs. These carry over and are used after your allowance runs out.
I ran out of credits. Can I still see my chats?

Yes. Your chats and history are always readable. You just can’t start a new round of replies until you have credits again.

My subscription ended and my purchased credits disappeared

They are still there. Purchased credits can only be used while you have an active subscription, so they are paused when a subscription ends. Subscribe again and they become available straight away.

A round failed but I lost a credit

If no character replies in a round, the credit is returned automatically, though it can take a moment to show. The same happens if you send another message before anyone has replied: the new round replaces the old one and you are only charged once. If it still looks wrong, contact us from Settings → Contact Support so we can check your account’s credit history.

Purchases

How do I restore my purchases?

Open Huddle, go to Settings and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy. If you moved to a new phone, first sign in to Huddle with the same Apple, Google or email account you used before, so your chats and credits come with you.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Huddle and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Deleting the app or your Huddle account does not cancel a subscription.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments, so refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.

Your account and data

Do I need to sign up?

No. Huddle creates an anonymous account so you can start straight away. If you want to keep your chats when you change or lose your phone, sign in with Apple, Google or email in Settings. Your existing chats, characters and credits stay with you when you do. If that sign-in already belongs to another Huddle account, the app switches to it and tells you first.

How do I delete my account and data?
  1. Open Huddle and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Confirm by tapping Delete account again.

This deletes your groups, messages, characters, memories, favorites, uploaded images and sign-in account. It can’t be undone. We keep your credit history (with no chat content) so free credits can’t be claimed twice; see the Privacy Policy for details. If you have a subscription, cancel it with Apple as well, because deleting your account doesn’t cancel it.

What do the characters remember about me?

A character remembers things only from chats it was part of, and knows nothing about groups it wasn’t in. Your answers to the setup quiz shaped who the characters are, but they aren’t stored as memories the characters can quote back. Deleting your account deletes all memories.

Can I remove a character?

Yes. You can remove a character from a group, or remove it from your characters altogether. A character removed from a group doesn’t see what is said there while it is gone.

Safety

How do I report a message?

Press and hold the message and tap Report, then choose a reason. The message is hidden from your chat straight away and our team reviews it within 24 hours.

Are the characters real people?

No. Every other member of your group is an AI character. They stay in character, but they are not people, and what they say can be wrong. It isn’t professional advice: for medical, legal, financial or mental health questions, please talk to a qualified professional.

What happens if I say I’m not safe?

If a message suggests you might be in danger, the characters don’t reply. Huddle shows you real helplines instead, and no credit is used. Huddle is not a crisis service: if you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. In the US you can call or text 988; in the UK and Ireland, Samaritans are on 116 123; elsewhere, find a helpline at findahelpline.com.
