Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Huddle collects when you use the Huddle app for iPhone and this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. In this policy, “Huddle”, “we” and “us” mean Jazzy Yazılım, which provides the app and is responsible (the “controller”) for your personal data.
1. What we collect
Account information
When you first open Huddle, we create an anonymous account for you. It is identified by a random user ID, and we don’t ask for your name, email or phone number. If you later choose to sign in with Apple, Google or email to keep your chats across devices, that sign-in is linked to the same account, and we also receive the email address and account identifier from that sign-in method (and your name, if the provider shares it). With Sign in with Apple you can hide your real email address.
Before you send your first message, the app asks you to confirm that you understand the characters are AI and not professional help. We record the time you confirmed.
Your quiz answers and your characters
At the start, the app asks you four quick multiple-choice questions. Your answers are used to create your ten characters: their names, personalities, ways of writing and the avatar each one uses. We store the characters we create for you. Your answers shape who the characters are; they are not given to the characters as memories to quote back to you.
Your chats
We store the groups you create (title, description, icon and who is in them), the messages you send, the characters’ replies, the images you share and the messages you save as favorites, so that your chats are there when you come back.
- Images. When you upload an image, it is saved in cloud storage run for us by Cloudflare and shown in your chat from our image domain. An AI model writes a text description of it (for a chat screenshot, who said what) that the characters read. An image with explicit content is not described; the characters are only told it was explicit.
- Shared WhatsApp chats. If you share an exported WhatsApp chat with a group, its text is sent to an AI model that writes a summary, and the summary plus the last part of the chat are kept with that group so the characters can discuss it. The export is not published anywhere, media in it is never read, and it is deleted with the group or your account. It contains other people’s messages: only share chats you are comfortable having analysed.
- Links you paste are stored as part of your message and are sent to the AI models with the rest of the conversation.
Memories and summaries
So that characters can remember you the way friends do, we keep short notes drawn from your chats (for example, “started a new job in March”) and summaries of long conversations. They are stored on our servers, linked to your account. Each note is also linked to the characters who were in that chat: a character only remembers things from chats it was part of.
Purchases and credits
We keep your credit balance (shown as “chats” in the app), a history of credits added and used, and the status of your subscription and purchases (which plan or pack, transaction identifiers and dates). Payment itself is handled by Apple: we never receive your card or bank details.
Device and usage information
- Your device’s time zone, your notification settings and a push notification token.
- App version, device model, operating system and language, and your IP address as it appears in our server logs.
- Usage events, such as “group created” or “purchase screen shown”, collected with Google Analytics for Firebase.
- Crash reports and diagnostic data, collected with Firebase Crashlytics.
- An App Check token, which lets our servers check that requests come from the genuine Huddle app.
Ad measurement
We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure how well our ads work. It receives app events such as installs, the usage events listed above and purchases (RevenueCat can also report purchases to Meta for this), together with an identifier for your installation of the app. Your device’s advertising identifier is only shared, and the data is only used to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, if you tap “Allow” when iOS asks whether Huddle may track you. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, Meta receives the events in a limited form without the advertising identifier. You can change your choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Reports and messages to us
If you report a message, we receive the message, the reason you chose and the group it belongs to. If you contact us from the app, we receive what you write, your account ID and your email address, if you give it.
2. How we use it
| Purpose | What it involves | Legal basis (where GDPR-type laws apply) |
|---|---|---|
| Providing Huddle | Running your account, creating your characters, generating replies, storing and syncing your chats, sending notifications | Performing our contract with you |
| Credits and purchases | Granting free credits, applying subscription allowances and packs, restoring purchases | Contract; legal obligations (accounting) |
| Safety | Detecting messages that suggest someone may be in danger and showing helplines; screening images for explicit content; detecting misuse; reviewing reported messages; preventing fraud (such as claiming free credits repeatedly) | Legitimate interests (keeping users and the service safe); legal obligations; protecting vital interests |
| Fixing and improving the app | Crash reports, usage analytics, remotely adjusting settings | Legitimate interests |
| Ad measurement | Meta SDK; the advertising identifier and tracking only with your permission | Legitimate interests; consent for tracking |
| Support and legal requests | Answering you; complying with the law | Contract; legitimate interests; legal obligations |
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use the content of your chats for advertising. We do not train AI models on your chats. The AI providers receive your content only to generate a response for us, and handle it under their terms for business (API) customers.
3. How AI is used
The characters in Huddle are AI. Here is what happens to your content when the group replies:
- Replies. For each round, our servers send the relevant part of the conversation to an AI model: recent messages, a summary of earlier ones, the character’s profile and any memories that character has of you. Requests normally go through Vercel AI Gateway to models from Google (Gemini) and Anthropic (Claude). If the gateway is unavailable, the same request is handled by open models running on Cloudflare Workers AI. The model generates the reply and returns it to us.
- Images. A vision model looks at each image once and writes a description. The characters work from that description, not from the image itself.
- Setup. Your quiz answers are sent to an AI model to create your characters.
- Memories and summaries are also written by an AI model, from your chats.
AI providers may keep the data we send for a short period to detect abuse and keep their services secure, under their own terms. Some safety steps are automated: detecting crisis messages, screening images and detecting misuse. If a message suggests you may be in danger, the characters do not reply and the app shows helplines instead. These steps don’t produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. If you think something was wrongly blocked, tell us.
4. Who we share it with
We use the following service providers to run Huddle. They process data on our behalf and only for the purposes above:
| Provider | What for |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Sign-in, database, push notifications, analytics, crash reports, remote configuration and App Check |
| Cloudflare | Our servers (Cloudflare Workers), storage for the images you share (Cloudflare R2), and backup AI models (Cloudflare Workers AI) |
| Vercel (AI Gateway) | Routing requests to AI model providers |
| Google and Anthropic | AI models that generate replies, image descriptions, characters, memories and summaries |
| RevenueCat | Managing subscriptions and purchases |
| Meta Platforms | Ad measurement (see above) |
Apple processes payments, Sign in with Apple and push delivery under its own privacy policy. Google does the same for Sign in with Google. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, to enforce our Terms of Use, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business (in which case this policy would continue to apply).
5. Who can see your chats
Your groups are private to your account. Your characters are yours alone: they are not shared with other users, and nothing you tell them reaches anyone else. Our team does not read your chats, with these exceptions:
- a message you report, and as much of the surrounding conversation as is needed to review it;
- anything you choose to send us when you contact support;
- where we are required to by law, or need to investigate serious misuse or a threat to someone’s safety.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account, characters, chats, images, favorites, memories and summaries are kept while your account exists. Deleting a group removes it and its messages from your account.
- When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), we delete your groups, messages, characters, memories, favorites, uploaded images and sign-in account. Deletion from our live systems starts immediately; any remaining copies in backups or logs are removed within 30 days.
- What we keep after deletion: your credit history (credits added and used, with no chat content), including a note that free credits were already given, so they can’t be claimed twice. We also keep purchase records where accounting or other legal obligations require it.
- Reports and the reported message are kept for up to 12 months, to handle abuse.
- Analytics event data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days.
- Support messages are kept for as long as needed to help you, and up to 2 years.
If you delete the app without signing in, your anonymous account can no longer be reached from any device. If you want your data removed, use Delete account in Settings before deleting the app. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it with Apple (see Support).
7. Your choices and rights
In the app you can turn notifications off, report any message, remove a character from a group, and delete your account. In iOS Settings you can turn tracking off at any time.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR, Türkiye’s KVKK, or US state privacy laws), you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy in a portable format, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email support@jazzyazilim.com. Because accounts are anonymous by default, we may ask you to contact us from inside the app (Settings → Contact Support) so we can match your request to the right account. We will reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Children
Huddle is not intended for anyone under 17. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe someone under 17 is using Huddle, contact us and we will delete the account.
9. International transfers
Our service providers operate in the United States and other countries, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. When we transfer personal data out of the EU, the UK or Türkiye, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider participates.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit between the app, our servers and our providers. Access to your data is restricted to your account and to the systems that need it. Our servers only accept requests from a signed-in account, and can check that they come from the genuine app. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your device locked.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app before it takes effect.
